Pixie Hollow Disneyland Light Show

Jul 30, 2009 HAHA! I have to say that I LOVE LOVE LOVE watching the water show at Pixie Hollow. We talked to a CM that was around Pixie Hollow and he said that they have 4 different water shows that run every 15 minutes! Its so cute and magical. Not only does it light up in the water, but the trees around Pixie Hollow also sparkle and change colors! Jun 11, 2009  ANAHEIM, Calif. (June 12, 2009) – Summer nights at Disneyland Resort will sparkle with more pixie dust than ever this year as Tinker Bell and her fairy friends unite to create an iridescent light show in their first appearance under the stars, at Pixie Hollow Enchantment.

Description And Comments

Subsequent to the release of the Tinker Bell animated feature, pixies and fairies are all the rage (and have been in LA for years, but that's another story). An elaborate character-greeting area situated on the path connecting Matterhorn Bobsleds to the central hub, Pixie Hollow features Tink and a squad of her buddies in a standard character meet-and-greet. The line can be deceivingly long.

Touring Tips

Pixie Hollow accumulates substantial wait times just after opening in the morning, and lasts throughout the day until early evening when it closes. It also closes temporarily during parades (it's on the parade route). The best way to visit Tink is to line up 15 minutes before it opens, typically an hour after the park does (check the Times Guide).

Meet Tinker Bell at Pixie Hollow Wait Times

This chart shows you roughly how long you'll wait for Meet Tinker Bell at Pixie Hollow when you visit on a day with a given Disneyland Crowd Level. The blue bars represent the average 'peak' wait time (that is, how long the line will be at its busiest). The bottom and top black lines represent the range of peak wait times to expect (for you fellow nerds out there: it's the 5th percentile and 95th percentile of peak wait times). Please note that these are estimates, and for a better forecast for your travel dates, see Meet Tinker Bell at Pixie Hollow Wait Times.

3 Full Disneyland Pixie Hollow Enchantment Light and Water Shows

Disneyland in Anaheim, CA has some of the world's best theme park attractions. But have you ever noticed the little pond with the water fountain while you're waiting in line for the Pixie Hollow Meet and Greet in Fantasyland? Or perhaps you saw it as you raced from Sleeping Beauty Castle to the Astro Orbitors? If you don't recall seeing it, you're not alone. Off the beaten path, most park visitors never get near the pond and those who do walk by it hardly give it a second look. That's unfortunate, because practically everyone is missing a little piece of Disney magic.

During the day, Pixie Pond is a beautiful place to take a breather from the hectic pace of a day at the park. And when the sun goes down? Well that's when the little Disneyland attraction with a big heart really comes to life. Even when considering all of the multi-million dollar attractions at Disneyland, the Pixie Hollow Enchantment Light and Water Show is an absolute must see if you're in on the secret.

Every fifteen minutes or so from dusk to park closing, the pond comes to life with flashing patterns of rich, colored underwater lights, twinkling lights in the trees and arcs of water shooting through the air, all choreographed to Pixie Hollow inspired music. If you watch the lights in the trees closely you might just see evidence that Tinkerbell herself has arrived to enjoy the magic of the pond!

The icing on the cake is that not a lot of people know that this is happening so there are no crowds! There are no signs posted near the pond to let people know that the attraction even exists, never mind a schedule of show times. It's not shown on the park map and it's not described on the Disneyland website. Most of the people who catch the show stumble across it as they rush from one attraction to another.

Light

The shows are only a few minutes long, but there are multiple versions of it. The video below includes three full versions of the show. You could watch the Pixie Hollow Enchantment Light and Water show a few nights of a multi-day trip to the park and not see the same show twice.

There are two different viewing spots to see the show. The best location is on the path between Astro Orbitors and Matterhorn Way. From here, you can see the lights in the pond and in the trees. Stand up against the railing, closeto the fountain for a front row view. The other viewing spot is in the queue area for the Pixie Hollow Meet-and-Greet area.

Here's my recommendation for creating a special memory with your special someone. Don't tell your special person about the water and light show beforehand. After the sun sets, take a walk from the castle to the Astro Orbiters. While on the path, stop and linger in front of the pond, standing up against the railing in front of the fountain. It shouldn't be hard to convince your special someone to linger here because the pond is lit up subtly but beautifully between shows. Keep up your clever ruse and in a few minutes the magic starts right in front of your special someone's eyes.

Watch the Video

Disneyland's Pixie Hollow Enchantment Light and Water show at Pixie Hollow pond is a truly delightful experience. And don't worry if you can't get to the park any time soon. The video below shows three full version of the shows, switching between the two viewing locations during the last show. So turn off the lights, get comfortable with your special someone and enjoy the video!
